I think the gunnel height (freeboard) is 4" more on DLV.

I have a DLX. Boat is easy to modify. Roomy. A great fish platform when it is a little snotty. I don't like the hull slap and vague steering at around 40 mph. The boat drive like a pig in the wind. I do like that I can beach the boat and have never been stranded because of too little water (although I have come close). ; )

As others have said, drive both and compare.

the ONLY way to know which is the RIGHT boat for YOU, is to git the family, or your buddies, to GO crawl around the boats you thinnin bout, WE CANNOT tell you what would be right for YOU, we got some personall preferences, based on havin the skiffs, BUT, its up ta you an yours man.
Each one is really great in its own way,and you have seen we kinda divided on that, BUT........ we ALL skiffers here.
What YOU wanna do, where you wanna go, what you already done in other boats, all determine what YOU want. Sure we kin ALL harp on what boat betteren the next, but that dont say what YOU do, do it???????
Git a couple of the folk on here thats close ta you ta give ya rides, rides ya cant git at a sales place .
Post up an find out whos close to ya, take time in this, itll be the last boat ya buy, fer 30+ YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! (yea, skiffs like that.)
Ebody here KNOWS i harp on my dlx, I LOVE the craft, BUT it might not be what right fer YOU. I been in dlv's an dlx's, an man, its ALL up ta what ya do!!!!!!
Fer instanc, weel, I'd sure like Gunnar ta pole us round in the skinny water (on a 21 dlx, mine ta be exact, BTW) an I'd like top or o2b ta go tuna killin wif.or ALL the fish they ketch.
Do yer reasurch, ANY THING OVER 19' git a tandom axle, and ya really aint asked the IMPORTANT questions, YET. How ya want it rigged, shade,TM, batts, pole holders,ff,safty equipment, vhf, see what I mean?
go lookin FIRST, SIT IN EM, FIRST, think what ya wanna do man.
jus my 2 cents worth, but we here to ANSWER ALL your questions man. DO NOT jump inta NUTHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ONLY dum question is one that aint asked. We KNOW, we drive these boats, ya feelin me bro???
