Welcome, I am new as well. What part of North Georgia are you from? I live in Atlanta but fish the Chattahoochee and Lake Lanier regularly. My 17fter works great in both. Gotta watch out for big chop in Lanier and rocks in Hooch. Have taken on both and won but not by much.

I live close to Helen, CHOP I agree on- all that traffic makes Lanier a MESS. Burtons bad too!
I,ve gone up to belton bridge on the top end, found some sand bars but no rocks yet.
